Paul Shipp has spent 10 years of his career at Weston Hurd. Paul began his legal career as an Assistant Cuyahoga County Prosecutor and most recently before rejoining Weston Hurd, was the founder and managing member of The Paul Shipp Law Firm.
During the Covid-19 pandemic, Paul shifted his practice into Elder Law after losing two family members and witnessing firsthand the legal challenges and needs of the elderly, their families, and those planning for their retirement and later years of life. Paul finds this work extremely rewarding and it is now the main focus of his practice. Paul also practices estate planning, probate administration & litigation, and Medicaid planning.
Paul spent the first 15 years of his career representing his clients primarily in white collar criminal defense, business litigation, and general litigation. Paul was recognized as an Ohio Rising Star in White Collar Criminal Defense by Super Lawyers. He was also selected by Crain’s Cleveland Business as “Who to Watch in Law” for his work in litigation.
Paul received his B.A. cum laude from Bowling Green State University and obtained his J.D. cum laude from Cleveland State University College of Law.
Within the legal community, Paul is a member of the Cleveland State University College of Law Alumni Association and a Life Member of the Eighth District Judicial Conference.
