Real Property Tax Help – New Special COVID-19 Reductions

in Business, News, Real Estate

Beginning on July 26, 2021, property owners in Ohio can apply to reduce their real estate taxes if their property’s value has suffered specifically due to COVID-19 related circumstances. This new law provides a one-time special opportunity for property owners to reduce real estate taxes due to effects of the pandemic.

These special applications for reduction must provide detailed facts as to how COVID-19 has impaired the value of their property.

The first day to file is July 26, 2021, and the deadline is August 25, 2021.

Many commercial and residential rental property owners have been waiting to see if potential real estate tax relief of this sort would become available.
