David Patterson Named President of ABOTA-Ohio Chapter

Weston Hurd Partner David T. Patterson was recently sworn in by the Chief Justice of the Ohio Supreme Court as President of the Ohio Chapter of the American Board of Trial Advocates (ABOTA).

David’s term as President of the Ohio Chapter commences on January 1, 2021. His appointment is considered one of the highest honors one can receive as a civil jury trial lawyer. ABOTA is comprised of plaintiff and defense attorneys who have received a high level of recognition for their ability as trial lawyers.

The national ABOTA association was founded in 1958 and its invitation-only membership includes experienced trial lawyers and judges. “ABOTA and its members are dedicated to the preservation and promotion of the civil jury trial right provided by the Seventh Amendment to the U.S. Constitution.” The mission of ABOTA is “to foster improvement in the ethical and technical standards of practice in the field of advocacy to the end that individual litigants may receive more effective representation and the general public be benefited by more efficient administration of justice consistent with time-tested and traditional principles of litigation.”
