New Attorneys Join Cleveland Office of Weston Hurd LLP

Weston Hurd LLP is pleased to announce that ROBERT I. CHERNETT and STEVEN L. WASSERMAN have joined the firm. Prior to joining Weston Hurd LLP, Robert and Steven were Partners with the law firm of Chernett Wasserman LLC.   Robert I. Chernett joins Weston Hurd LLP as Of Counsel. Bob focuses his practice on litigation and transactional matters regarding real estate including: purchase, sale and development of commercial property throughout the United States; public and private mechanics’ liens; construction and business litigation; foreclosure; commercial tax complaints; and landlord/tenant disputes. Bob’s clients include: commercial banks, owners and developers of commercial projects in Florida, Pennsylvania, Ohio and Massachusetts, franchise holders of international hotels and restaurants, owners and developers of shopping centers, industrial office buildings, housing projects and hotels, landlords, general contractors, subcontractors and material men. In addition, Bob is local counsel for out of state law firms for real estate matters within the State of Ohio. Bob received his B.S. in 1969 from The Ohio State University and his J.D. in 1972 from Cleveland-Marshall College of Law. He focuses his practice on real estate, banking and business law. He has extensive experience in loan restructuring, workouts and financing alternatives for troubled real estate, and for more than 35 years has represented clients in buying and selling businesses, real estate development, leasing and financing, and complex shareholder and other business disputes. Steven has served on the board of directors and the audit committee of a publicly-traded telecommunications company, and has provided corporate governance advice to a variety of businesses and organizations. Steven received his B.A. magna cum laude in 1975 from the University of Cincinnati and his J.D. in 1978 from Cleveland-Marshall College of Law. In addition to his Ohio Bar admission, Steven is admitted to practice in Arizona and Florida. His court admissions include the United States District Court for the Northern District of Ohio, the United States Tax Court, the United States Court of Appeals and the Bankruptcy Appellate Court for the Sixth Circuit, the United States District Court for the Northern District of California, and the United States Supreme Court.
