Tax

Overview

The Tax attorneys regularly assist clients in all federal, state and local tax matters which may arise in connection with clients’ business or personal activities. The group’s clients are businesses, individuals and not-for-profit organizations. The tax attorneys frequently partner with a client’s accountants, bankers and other professionals in working jointly to solve the client’s tax issues.

The Tax Group works closely with other Weston Hurd practice groups to identify tax issues and minimize tax ramifications triggered by damage awards and settlements, personal retirement planning, business and estate succession, and division of property pursuant to divorce.

Due to the constant developments in the tax field, opportunities arise for deferring or reducing tax liabilities; this team of attorneys constantly monitors and advises its clients of these developments. The tax attorneys regularly represent their clients in adversarial tax proceedings including audit controversies, administrative proceedings and litigation in all judicial forums available to taxpayers.
