REAL ESTATE VALUES ARE UP: APPLICATIONS FOR PROPERTY TAX REDUCTIONS DUE 3/31

in News

Back in December, we sent an advisory that certain Ohio counties were due to revise real estate tax values, whether by estimated update or full re-appraisal. These revised tax values for 2021 affect the amount of taxes paid in 2022 and thereafter. The advisory also served as a reminder that property owner challenges to their property values and the taxes payable based thereon are due on or before March 31, 2022.

Property owners should remember that county value updates are done in a bulk fashion and do not necessarily take into account unique circumstances which may affect the value and taxes for a given property.

Now is the time for property owners to review their tax values and taxes in order to determine whether it might behoove them to explore challenging the tax value of their property.
